Oh-So-Sour Yogurt Pops

Time

Preparation: 4 minutes
Freezing: 6-8 hours

Ingredients

SOUR CHERRY

  • 2 cups Darigold Lowfat Vanilla Yogurt
  • 6 oz. water
  • 2 tablespoons limeade concentrate
  • 6 oz. cherry juice concentrate

SOUR APPLE

  • 2 cups Darigold Lowfat Vanilla Yogurt
  • 6 oz. water
  • 2 tablespoons limeade concentrate
  • 6 oz. apple juice concentrate
  • 12 drops green food coloring

Instructions

Combine all ingredients (for one flavor) in a blender. Blend until smooth, about 20 seconds. Pour into molds. (Ice cube trays or yogurt cartons work great as molds for these pops.) Cover molds with plastic wrap. Insert plastic spoon through wrap and into pops. (This makes a great substitute for a stick.) Freeze 6-8 hours or overnight. Dip mold in warm water to release pop.

Makes 4 cups or 4-8 pops depending on mold.

Best popsicles!

These are popsicles I have always felt good about giving my daughter. A good source of protein, and low fat. You can use any kind of frozen concentrate: grape, orange, etc. and adjust the tartness with more or less limeade. I don’t like the high-fructose corn syrup in limeade concentrate, so I use 1 part lime juice to 2 parts simple syrup (equal volumes of sugar and water).
